Where Light Meets Dark; honouring our Inhale and Exhale whilst we celebrate and align with the sun as the earth takes a sacred pause: SOLSTICE the sun stands still
Honouring the height of the light and the depth of the dark. A reminder to us all on the importance of radical recalibration to radiate and the power of pausing to become present and be still.
Hello wonderful ones on this sacred day; the Summer Solstice in the Northern Hemisphere and the Winter Solstice in the Southern Hemisphere, two sacred polarities, each equally powerful, each inviting us to meet ourselves anew…
Here in the Northern Hemisphere, we celebrate the Summer Solstice:
a moment of peak light, solar radiance, and the outward expression of life in full bloom. Time to give thanks for all that has ripened, within and around us and to walk forward with courage and clarity, guided by the light within.
At the very same moment, in the Southern Hemisphere, our beloveds enter the Winter Solstice: a descent into deep stillness, a return to the womb of night, a time to rest, reflect, and remember the sacredness of inner light.
Both are holy.
Both are necessary.
Together, they mirror the sacred rhythm of expansion and contraction, the eternal dance of becoming.
And as the sun shifts, so do the stars…we are also welcomed into the waters of Cancer Season: a time of emotional truth, tenderness, and the medicine of coming home to ourselves and to each other.
I am fascinated by the fact that the celestial rhythms were once central to the lives of our ancestors. Solstices, equinoxes, full moons, new moons; these weren’t just astronomical events. They were cosmic anchors for timekeeping, spiritual rituals, agriculture, architecture, and governance.
Solstices marked the cycle of life, death, and rebirth, and dictated harvests, festivals, and rites of passage.
The ancients understood that rituals aligned with the heavens have powerful consequences for health, clarity, and alignment with purpose.
As we cross the Solstice threshold
and enter Cancer’s gentle embrace,
may we gather in the warmth of inner homecoming
A return to the heart,
A softening into stillness,
A moment to tend our inner flame.
Under Lunar Moon’s watchful eye,
We pause, we breathe,
We remember:
It is not too late to answer our soul’s calling. The time is always now.
Hugely powerful song that I love dancing to and brings me straight into my body in milliseconds!
Solstice Blessings with love and bright light…
